Ten Generations in America

The Story of One Line of the Adams Family

Goodman Adams is an informal genealogy study that follows one line of the Adams family through ten generations from 1630 to 1970.

  1. Colonial Journey: The first segment explores three generations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut when Puritan culture presented unique challenges and opportunities for settlers in the New World.

  2. Revolutionary War: The next piece looks at one generation of family members who experienced life during and after the Revolutionary War, primarily in Connecticut and New York.

  3. Westward Migration: The last part traces six generations as they migrated westward, first from New York to Illinois, then to Iowa and Missouri, where they endured economic growth and the Great Depression.
